We, Yaizu Suisankagaku Industry Co., Ltd., manufacture seasonings and functional materials from natural sources.
The shorter version of our corporate name is “YSK” which stands for “Yaizu” (name of the city where our head quarter is located) , “Suisan” (Fishery) and “Kagaku” (Chemistry).

YSK is a food manufacturing and sales company based in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. The central city of Shizuoka is located an hour away from Tokyo by bullet train (Shinkansen). Shizuoka Prefecture is home to the world famous and beautiful volcano Mt. Fuji. It also faces the Pacific Ocean and has abundant marine resources. Yaizu City, the birthplace of YSK, is one of regions with the largest catches of tuna and bonito in Japan. |
We were established in 1959 aiming to produce fertilisers and livestock feeds by cooking juice of fish. Shortly after, we diverted our business to production of extract seasonings, then widened the field to production of natural seasonings and dried food materials. In the 1980s, we started developing functional materials. Since then, we have achieved great successes such as establishment of industrial production method of N-Acetyl glucosamine (NAG). Not only NAG but also we have developed various functional materials such as Anserine, Collagen peptide, Fucoidan and Fucose using our core technology “extraction”. Pursuing “Tastiness and healthiness”, now we are mainly manufacturing and selling seasonings and functional materials derived from natural sources. Not only for food, our products are widely used in the health and beauty industry and adopted in a large number of finished products in and out of Japan. |
All our plants have obtained the FSSC 22000, the internationally credible food safety management certification. (Kakegawa Factory: obtained in 2018. Yaizu Factory, Danchi Factory, and Daito Factory: obtained in 2022.) We use this system to ensure thorough food safety management. |
