Fucose

Fucose is a monosaccharide (simple sugar) that constitutes fucoidan, a component of brown algae such as wakame and kombu. It is also found in human breast milk, blood, and the mucus-producing cells called mucin in the stomach and intestines, making it a familiar sugar to humans. Although its extraction and purification are difficult and have not been fully utilized, we have developed a production method using the brown algae Ascophyllum nodosum.

Fucose has high stability and refreshing sweetness, and remains colorless and transparent when dissolved in water, making it easy to combine with various foods such as dietary supplements, beverages and food products.

Fucose consumption has been shown in clinical studies to reduce body fat (subcutaneous and visceral), BMI, waist and hip circumference, improve gut health and bowel movements. Even increase elastin production in the dermal layer. Fucose
